What do I need for planning my project?

Good planning is key for a successful project of any size. We provide ongoing general advice throughout and can offer further professional and design services at an additional cost. Generally, a simplified sketch or list of requirements is often sufficient for accurate quoting.

What standards do you follow for alterations and additions to existing installations?

We adhere to the latest electrical regulations to ensure the safety and certification of our work. This may mean upgrading other relevant parts of the installation is necessary to meet current standards so bear this in mind when considering budget especially in older or neglected properties.

Do I need to rewire my property

There is no hard and fast rule. Often, I find better long term value is achieved by ripping out and starting again especially if a client is looking to upgrade their electrics or carry out redecoration works. I assess each job on a case-by-case basis based on what you want to achieve and try to provide a solution that meets your needs.

How do you provide quotes and estimates?

Our quotes are fixed prices, ensuring certainty. Estimates offer an approximate final cost based on our experience the actual charge is determined by the time and materials used during the job.

What can I expect regarding making good after the work?

We’ll highlight any work we will be doing that will require making good this will be made clear before work begins. We recommend making good is completed to a high standard by the relevant trade this will ensure an overall quality finish.

How can I schedule work?

Get in touch! Let us know if you have any preferred dates and we will try to accommodate. We recommend providing a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice. Emergency or expedited work is subject to availability and additional charges.

What do I need to prepare for site access?

Ensure we have access to the site on agreed work dates. Clear the working space and remove delicate objects. While we love pets and children, they should not enter the working area.

How do you manage turning off the power?

We’ll inform you before turning off any electrical services. Pricing is based on the ability to work largely unimpeded, so let us know about specific requirements – if you work from home for example.

What measures do you take for health and safety?

We work in compliance with relevant health and safety legislation. If unsafe conditions arise, we stop work immediately until rectified. Specialized risks, such as asbestos, require investigation and remediation at the client’s cost.

How is waste disposal handled?

Waste disposal is not included as standard. Clients can arrange their disposal or opt for our disposal services at an additional cost or speak to us regarding costs – we register upper tier waste carriers.

Can clients supply their fixtures and fittings?

Yes, clients can supply high-quality fixtures and fittings – for example lighting. Procurement services, materials lists and return visits required due to incorrect materials carry additional charges.

All work is tested and certified. Certificates are sent alongside the invoice upon completion, ensuring safety and compliance with relevant standards.

What is your invoicing and payment process?

An invoice is sent for every job, with clear breakdowns for materials and labour. Payment terms are 7 days, and for large jobs, stage payments will apply. Payment is hassle free BACs or Credit/Debit Card.

Top quality service from start to finish - I cannot recommend Julian highly enough. I needed a range of electrical work doing for the refurbishment of my new flat and Julian was happy to spend the time talking through all the details and offering great advice before any work began. He was extremely flexible, especially for all the second fix work where the completion of kitchen fitting and plumbing had to change several times, and was always very tidy and efficient. A dependable professional and a genuinely nice person, I would definitely use Julian again in the future.

Julian was great. He responded quickly to my need for someone to do an Electrical condition report and arrived the next day. He arrived on time and was meticulous in his work, he was also incredibly lovely to chat to and offered me lots of helpful advice.Julian gave me a quote and an estimation on how long the job would take and he stuck to both of these.I would highly recommend Julian to those looking for a professional and friendly electrician who is clearly passionate about his job and providing a good service for customers.🙂
